Smiley Battle: Emoji Legends — Digitale Manufaktur Rudolstadt
1. Verantwortlicher
Digitale Manufaktur Rudolstadt
E-Mail: info@digitale-manufaktur-rudolstadt.de
2. Lokale Datenspeicherung
- Spielstatistiken (Siege, Niederlagen, Streaks, Spielzeit)
- Team-Zusammenstellungen und Avatar
- Spielername
- Battle Pass, Challenges und Achievement-Fortschritt
- Login-Belohnungs-Status
3. Werbung (Google AdMob)
Diese App verwendet Google AdMob zur Anzeige von Werbung.
Anbieter: Google LLC
Werbeformate: Banner, Interstitial, Rewarded Video
Google kann dabei folgende Daten erheben:
- Werbe-ID des Geräts
- IP-Adresse
- App-Nutzungsdaten
Rechtsgrundlage: Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO)
Weitere Informationen: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Weitere Informationen: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Google Play Games Services
Rechtsgrundlage: Berechtigtes Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO)
Weitere Informationen: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Online-Dienste (Firebase)
a) Firebase Authentication (Anonyme Anmeldung)
- Anonyme Anmeldung ohne E-Mail oder Passwort
- Es wird eine eindeutige User-ID (UID) generiert
- Kein Rückschluss auf Ihre Person möglich
b) Firebase Firestore und Realtime Database
Folgende Daten werden serverseitig gespeichert:
- Spielerprofil (Spielername, Avatar, Level, Team, Statistiken)
- Spieler-Bio (Freitext, max. 50 Zeichen)
- Aktivitäts-Feed (Siege, Freischaltungen, Fortschritt)
- Leaderboard-Einträge (Spielername, Level, Siege, Streak)
- Matchmaking-Daten (Level, Team, Online-Status)
- Empfehlungs-Codes
c) Server-Funktionen (Firebase Cloud Functions)
Weitere Informationen: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
7. Teilen-Funktion
Keine Inhalte, keine Standortdaten.
Rechtsgrundlage: Fehlerberichte berechtigtes Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO), Nutzungsereignisse Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO, jederzeit widerrufbar)
9. Datenspeicherung und Löschung
Lokale Daten:

This website is hosted by a German hosting provider. When visiting the website, technical data (IP address, browser type, access time) is automatically stored in server log files. This is technically necessary for operating the website.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest)
3. Cookies and Local Storage
This website does not use cookies. Only localStorage in the browser is used to save your language preference (DE/EN). This is technically necessary and does not require a cookie banner.

Smiley Battle: Emoji Legends — Digitale Manufaktur Rudolstadt
1. Controller
Digitale Manufaktur Rudolstadt
E-mail: info@digitale-manufaktur-rudolstadt.de
2. Local Data Storage
This app stores the following data exclusively on your device in the file "smiley_battle_save.json":
- Game progress (collection, coins, levels, story progress)
- Settings (language, volume, graphics options)
- Game statistics (wins, losses, streaks, playtime)
- Team compositions and avatar
- Player name
- Battle Pass, challenges and achievement progress
- Login reward status
- Ad counters and purchase history
- Month and year of birth from the age question at first launch (see section 11)
In addition, the file "play_games_progress.json" is stored locally, containing achievement progress for Google Play Games, as well as the file ".age_gate" with month and year of birth (so that the answer survives "Reset save data"). Month and year of birth are never transmitted to us or to third parties, not even with the cloud save.
No local data is transmitted to our servers unless you use online features (see section 6).
Local reminders (notifications):
The app can notify you with at most two local reminders: "Your lives are full" and a reminder about your login streak. These reminders are scheduled and shown on your device only (Android permission POST_NOTIFICATIONS); no data is sent to our servers or third parties for this. Reminders never appear between 10 pm and 9 am local time. The permission is requested only the first time your lives run out. You can switch the reminders off at any time in the app settings or in the Android system settings.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
This app uses Google AdMob to display advertising.
Provider: Google LLC
Ad formats: banner, interstitial, rewarded video
Google may collect the following data:
- Advertising ID of the device
- IP address
- App usage data
- Approximate location (based on IP address)
You can disable personalized advertising in your device settings. Alternatively, you can purchase the "Remove Ads" option in the in-app shop.
Age-dependent advertising: the ad SDK is only started after the age question has been answered.
- Under 13: no advertising. AdMob is not started and no data is sent to Google AdMob.
- 13 to 15: non-personalized ads only. Requests carry the "under the age of consent" tag (Google: Tag for Users under the Age of Consent); no consent form is shown in that case. This applies worldwide because the app cannot reliably tell whether you are in the EU.
- 16 and over: consent request (Google UMP) according to the rules of your country.
For all ages, ads are limited to content rated "G" (suitable for all audiences).
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR)
More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
4. In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Purchases are processed through Google Play. We do not receive any payment data. The privacy policy of Google Play applies.
Server-side verification: to prevent fraud, every purchase is verified on our server (Firebase Cloud Function) against the Google Play Developer API. For this purpose the purchase token, the product ID and your anonymous user ID are transmitted. The verified purchase record (product, order number, anonymous user ID) is stored so that your purchases can be restored on a new device. Once a day we check with Google Play whether purchases have been refunded or reversed; if so, the record is marked as revoked and the purchased content is withdrawn in the game.
In-app purchases are disabled for users under 13.
More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Google Play Games Services
On Android devices, the app can connect to Google Play Games Services if you are signed in to Google Play Games.
The following data is transmitted:
- Achievement unlocks
Using Google Play Games Services is voluntary and requires an active sign-in. For users under 13 the app does not connect to Google Play Games.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR)
More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Online Services (Firebase)
If online features are available and enabled, this app uses Firebase services provided by Google LLC. The server location is europe-west1 (Belgium, EU).
a) Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in)
- Anonymous sign-in without e-mail or password
- A unique user ID (UID) is generated
- No conclusions about your identity are possible
b) Firebase Firestore and Realtime Database
The following data is stored server-side:
- Player profile (player name, avatar, level, team, statistics)
- Player bio (free text, max. 50 characters)
- Profile frames and titles
- Friends list and player codes
- Messages between friends (predefined phrases only, no free text)
- Activity feed (wins, unlocks, progress)
- Leaderboard entries (player name, level, wins, streak)
- Matchmaking data (level, team, online status)
- Referral codes
- Redeemed promo codes (code, anonymous user ID, time of redemption)
- Reports you send about other players, and reports about you from other players (see below)
c) Server functions (Firebase Cloud Functions)
Redeeming promo codes and referral codes, verifying purchases, updating the leaderboard, reporting players and deleting your account are performed on our server, not on your device. A code can only be redeemed once per account; the server checks this and stores the redemption. To protect the service against abuse (spam, guessing of codes) we count the calls per account within a time window (rate limit, stored under your anonymous user ID). In addition we count calls per internet address within a window of one hour; for this we store only a hash of the IP address (entry "ratelimits/ip_..."), never the address itself. These counters contain no personal data and are therefore not removed individually when an account is deleted; they are overwritten once the time window has passed. The player name is checked on the server against a list of prohibited words (for the leaderboard and when your profile is saved); on a match it is replaced by a neutral name ("Player-XXXX"), as is a profile bio. For abuse protection, new players appear on the leaderboard only 24 hours after their first sign-in. We may additionally use Firebase App Check (Google Play Integrity), which lets Google confirm to our server that a request comes from the genuine app; in that case a device attestation token issued by Google is sent with the request.
d) Reporting players
You can report a player name or bio. A report stores your anonymous user ID, the ID of the reported player, the time and the reason you chose. To prevent abuse, only accounts that are at least 24 hours old and have already played can report; one report counts per player and target, at most five reports per day. If at least five different players report the same name, it is automatically replaced by a neutral name; we review the reports themselves manually when needed. Reports you have submitted are removed when your account is deleted; reports about you are deleted together with your account. The list of blocked players (blocking) is stored only locally on your device and is not sent to our server.
After the age question, the app signs in to Firebase anonymously for users aged 13 and over (random user ID, no e-mail, no name). Before the answer and for users under 13 the app does not connect to Firebase (see section 11). Online battles, friends and the leaderboard do not work without it. You can turn off leaderboard visibility and online status under Settings > Privacy; an existing leaderboard entry is then removed.
Legal basis: consent and performance of contract (Art. 6 (1) (a) and (b) GDPR)
More information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
7. Share Feature
The app offers a share feature for battle results and profile cards. Sharing is triggered exclusively by you as the user (via the Android share intent, e.g. WhatsApp, Messenger).
Screenshots are stored locally on your device. No automatic data transfer takes place.
8. Stability and Usage Statistics
This app does not use any third-party analytics or tracking services (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics).
To ensure stability and improve the game, the following data is stored on our own Firebase servers (europe-west1, EU) while online features are active:
- Error reports: technical error logs of the app (error messages, crash traces including those of the Android/Java part, app version, platform, device model, Android version, app language, last screen visited, and a marker if the previous session ended abnormally) together with your anonymous user ID. No content, no location data.
- Simple usage events: app start, level progress (start, completion and failure per level), minigame usage, shop sections viewed, pop-ups shown, feature unlocks, first-use (tutorial) steps, login streak, event participation, assignment to test variants and purchase events (product ID only, no payment data), each with a daily counter, time, app version and anonymous user ID. These are ONLY sent if you turn on "Usage statistics" under Settings > Privacy (off by default), and only from age 16.
For users under 13, neither error reports nor usage events are sent.
This data is used exclusively for fixing bugs and improving the game experience and is not shared with third parties.
Legal basis: error reports legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), usage events consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, revocable at any time)
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Local data:
All local game data is stored exclusively on your device and is completely deleted when the app is uninstalled.
Online data (Firebase):
Accounts not used for more than 365 days are deleted automatically (profile, cloud save, leaderboard entries, messages, promo-code redemptions, reports you submitted, duel codes, statistics and error reports). Purchase records (product, order number, anonymous user ID) are kept because of statutory retention obligations.
Request deletion of your account (in the app or on request):
- In the app: Settings > Reset save data (confirm twice). This deletes the local save and, if you are signed in online, all online data of your account through our cloud function "deleteAccount" (profile, cloud save, leaderboard entries, messages, submitted reports, duel codes, statistics, error reports and the sign-in account). An internet connection is required.
- Without the app (for example after uninstalling): write to us by e-mail at info@digitale-manufaktur-rudolstadt.de with the subject "Delete account". Please include your player code or anonymous user ID (visible in the profile) so that we can identify your data. The instructions are also available at https://smileybattle.com/konto-loeschen.html. We delete the data within 30 days and confirm this to you.
- Purchase records (product, order number, anonymous user ID) are kept for the statutory retention period (see above).
10. Your Rights (GDPR Art. 15-21)
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access to stored data
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure of your data: "Reset save data" in the settings deletes the local save AND all online data of your account (see section 9). Uninstalling only removes the data on the device.
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability
- Objection to processing
- Withdrawal of given consent
- Complaint to the competent supervisory authority
11. Age Rating and Age Question
This app is not directed at children. It is intended for users aged 13 and over (rating: see the store listing).
At first launch the app asks for month and year of birth, before any advertising, consent request or online sign-in starts. The answer stays on your device only (see section 2); the age is recalculated from it at every start.
- Under 13: story, minigames, collection and all other offline areas remain fully playable. Advertising, purchases, Google Play Games and all online features (Firebase account, leaderboard, friends, chat, friend duels, cloud save, error reports, usage statistics) are switched off; the app does not connect to our servers. We do not collect any data from parents. These features become available automatically on the 13th birthday.
- 13 to 15: all features are available. Ads are non-personalized only (section 3) and the optional usage statistics stay off (section 8). Reason: in the EU, consent is only valid from the age set by national law, at most 16 (GDPR Art. 8); because the app cannot reliably tell your country, this applies worldwide.
- 16 and over: no age-related restrictions.
The first answer applies. "Reset save data" does not change it. If a wrong date was entered by mistake, it can be corrected by clearing the app's data in the Android settings (Settings > Apps > Smiley Battle > Storage > Clear data) or by reinstalling the app; local game progress is lost in the process.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has nevertheless provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. The current version can always be viewed within the app.
